Who We Are

What is a biblical-worldview school?

Simply put, a worldview is the way people view the world. It is essentially a religious viewpoint through which everyone looks at existence. Obviously, because different people look at the world in different ways, there are different worldviews. Ultimately, there are only two worldviews - God’s and not God’s (man’s word/humanism).

A biblical worldview stands against all other false worldviews (whether secular worldviews, Eastern mysticism worldviews, pagan worldviews, and so forth). It is a worldview that mimics the way God looks at His creation.  God’s revealed truth is the Bible. We believe God’s Word is inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant, and sufficient. It is the absolute standard to correct our thinking and understanding about God’s world. It would be illogical to neglect God’s Word when looking at the world. Thus, we presuppose God and His Word in an effort to understand basics about existence, logic, truth, knowledge, morality, science, and so on.

God is the basis for a biblical worldview, and as Christians we strive to follow God’s example from the very first verse. A biblical worldview is predicated on the truths of Genesis 1-11. Genesis is the foundational book to the rest of Scripture and should be taken in a straightforward fashion which is the way other Bible authors took it. Genesis 1-11 should be taken as literal history. All theology (whether directly or indirectly) is founded in the first eleven chapters of Genesis. Some key principles founded in Genesis 1-11 are as follows:

  • a six-day creation with 24 hours days (which is not a problem for an all-powerful God),

  • the basis for marriage between a man and woman as God created male and female—the two genders,

  • a literal fall into sin that brought death and suffering into the world (which is why we need a Savior),

  • a global Flood which laid down most of the rock layers that contain fossils,

  • and a language splitting event at the Tower of Babel which explains the diversity of people groups and languages today.

Christian Worldview Academy (CWA) begins with the Bible as the absolute standard and final authority in all matters, not just faith and practice (2 Timothy 4:2). We are unashamed of this fact. Therefore, we use a biblical framework in mathematics, arts, history, sciences such as biology and physics, literature, logic, morality, personal relationships, missions, evangelism, and so on (Romans 15:4; Philippians 4:8).

All authorities outside of Scripture are lesser authorities. Scripture is supreme and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that we may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Thus, we stand on this in our teaching methods, and we make creation, general apologetics (i.e., defending the faith), and salvation a priority.

What’s the Big Deal With Apologetics?

We are in an age where Christianity is under attack and secularism (e.g., big bang, millions of years, evolution, atheism, moral relativism, gender, critical race theory) is dominant in our culture. Sadly, many young people are leaving the church because they are influenced by secular humanism in schools, media, programming, textbooks, museums, peers, and even some church leaders! Statistics reveal that about two out of every three kids in church homes are walking away from the faith as young as middle school and high school age and very few returning. By and large, a child has developed their worldview by the age of 13 (see Already Gone and Ready to Return by Ken Ham and Britt Beemer, Master Books, Green Forest, AR).

Something needs to be done and CWA is one step in that process to help overcome this sad situation. Research has shown that one of the significant reasons for this exodus from the church by the youth is the lack of apologetics (defending the faith) teaching in our homes, churches, and Christian institutions. CWA is striving to help stem the tide of this catastrophic problem. We address subject material from a biblical authority perspective with a high academic standard, apologetically defend the faith, and help build a truly biblical worldview in the coming generations.

We teach kids the facts in different subject areas, but we also teach them how to think (logic courses). We use apologetics courses to supplement their Bible instruction and teach them how to defend their faith effectively. In other words, we integrate biblical worldview and apologetics into each area—math, science, history, literature and so forth.

We do not shy away from what the world teaches, but we show the faults in the secular worldview as part and parcel of our scope and sequence.  At the same time, we come along side parents to help educate children on these difficult subjects while teaching critical thinking skills. Furthermore, we walk a very careful line to remain outside of many denominational issues so that local churches can train their respective students without the school stepping on their doctrinal toes.  This win-win scenario is beneficial to both local churches and parents alike.  Thus, CWA is a non-denominational school.

As you can see, we are training the next generation to understand that the Bible is true and enabling them to defend that truth and refute the attacks on Scripture (i.e., defense and offense). Furthermore, our students should be well prepared to enter vocations, missions, ministry, and colleges or universities upon graduation from CWA. We hope to hear from you soon to partner with us in this unique school that stands on biblical authority with an emphasis on apologetics and biblical worldview training!

What does it mean to be a discipleship school?

It is the philosophy of CWA that children need to be trained in wisdom and in the admonition of the Lord so they can learn to excel within a biblical worldview in science, apologetics, history, and all other subjects. This effort is to prepare them for the world’s attacks as well as for evangelism (Proverbs 1:3-5) and superior academics. Thus, we hope to attract like-minded families (whose children have a heart for the things of the Lord) and want their children trained to be defenders of the faith, as opposed to those assuming their children are already thoroughly equipped.

Because children of this generation are influenced by secular media, programming, museums, peers, and in some cases secular education, we need to prepare and train them to have discernment to counter false humanistic religion. We want to guide children down the correct path (Proverbs 1:15). We cannot assume that our children are already experts on the Bible, discernment, and evangelism; they require years of delicate training in both the Bible and academics to be equipped for every good work. Building the right thinking upon God’s Word does not happen overnight. It it formed by having all major influences (family, church, school, friends, programming, etc.) to be aligned biblically and slowly over years of time with multiple layers of complexity a child’s worldview is shaped.

Throughout their years at CWA, the students will be mentored to be Christ-like disciples and to live their life pleasing to the Lord and shine a light for Jesus in a dark world. Discipleship will also prepare them to be able to present the gospel and defend the authority of the Bible with confidence.
